Brave Girls Likely To Make Comeback After Successful Crowdfunding Effort

Girl group Brave Girls has reached 100 percent of their crowdfunding goal!  The girl group set up the crowdfunding effort to subsidize their next comeback. Their last comeback was in August with the digital single “Yoo Hoo.”  As of October 11 KST, Brave Girls had accumulated about 10.7 million won (about $9550) on the crowdfunding platform Makestar. Contributions came from not only Korea but the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, and China.  The crowdfunding effort officially ends on November 30. Sponsors can receive special perks in return for donating, such as an official certificate, a signed CD, a photo card, and handmade diffusers from the members.  A source from Brave Girls said, “Fans who donated will also be mentioned in the album credits as a producer. We are also planning on doing video calls and fanmeetings.”

After recently holding the AMN Big Concert, the second half of the Korean Music Wave Concert took place on October 8, and was later aired on October 9! The concert is another event that is part of the 2016 DMC Festival, which celebrates the Hallyu wave.  Artists that performed at the Korean Music Wave Concert include Girls’ Generation, SHINee, 2PM, INFINITE, BTS, EXO, Apink, B.A.P, EXID, BTOB, TWICE, GFRIEND, MONSTA X, and many more!

n Young Mi Expresses Disappointment For Treatment Of Comedians At tvN10 Awards

Comedian An Young Mi recently shared her thoughts on the treatment of the comedians who were present at the tvN10 awards show.  On October 9, An Young Mi was awarded as the “tvN10 Best Female Comedian.” As she gave her acceptance speech, An Young Mi said, “Thank you for this award. I want to apologize for not making everyone laugh a lot. A lot of comedians came to the awards ceremony, but none of the cameras came to grab a shot. So I felt really hurt. Please hold on to the comedians.”  The treatment of other comedians has since come into the spotlight as well. When Kwon Hyuk Soo won an award, he gave his speech by having to lie flat on the floor as the microphone continued to descend.
Netizens responded with comments such as “They’re neglecting the entertainers too much,” and “Kwon Hyuk Soo’s award speech seems like it was just a choice in direction, but all the others were too much.”

Jessi Reveals How Many Celebrities Have Asked Her Out

On the morning of October 10, on Kim Young Chul’s radio show, Jessi revealed that she’s quite popular with the men in the industry.  It was her first time on radio since her debut, and when asked if she’s been approached for dates by more than three celebrities, she said, “There have been more [than three]. I’m a woman, too; there have been more than 10.”  While she’s single now, Jessi said, she’s dated a celebrity before, and she’s the type to date for a long time. On how she feels about Kim Young Chul, she said he’s “not bad.” “I like someone who makes me laugh and has a similar sense of humor as me, and Kim Young Chul makes me laugh.” She said, “I never look at appearances.”

Kim Joon Ho Shows Support For Jung Joon Young On Opening Of “2 Days & 1 Night”

The members of the KBS variety show “2 Days & 1 Night” show their support for Jung Joon Young during the opening of the newest October 9 episode.
The members gather at Pangyo station for the opening scene and as they engage in light conversation, the screen text says, “As much as it must have been a shocking incident for everyone, we will do our very best to provide wholesome laughter.” This is the first episode in which Jung Joon Young did not appear, following his decision to step down after his sexual assault case, from which he has been acquitted.
The members then bow to the viewers and Kim Joon Ho lifts up his hat briefly as he bows. The staff members notice his hair is much shorter and they ask what happened. Kim Joon Ho looks embarrassed as he says, “I was doing something and it accidentally got cut this way.” Cha Tae Hyun laughs as he jokes if Kim Joon Ho had shaved his head to show his remorse over Jung Joon Young and although he asserts that it isn’t, the cast members all tease him as the screen text flashes “Eldest hyung RESPECT.” Kim Joon Ho then plays along and kneels on the ground to ask for forgiveness from the viewers.

Later in the episode, Kim Joon Ho brings up Jung Joon Young again after they arrive at Yeoju. They buy a piece of chocolate and Kim Joon Ho automatically cuts up the chocolate into six pieces, although there are now only five cast members. He puts the remaining piece in his pocket as he says, “I’ll give this to Joon Young later.”
When Defconn mentions how Jung Joon Young usually annoyed him, he answers, “I miss your teasing. You were the only one who treated me like that.”
